The Confluence NGO was established on August 21, 2017, Confluence was conceived in line with the ‘Make in India’ vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, to promote and preserve India’s heritage weaves and nurture country’s age-old handloom industry.

As a social endeavour, registered under Indian Trust Act 1882, Confluence has a special focus on empowering women from rural villages and champion the cause of Khadi. In the face of rising yarn prices, dwindling employment opportunities, diminishing wage rates, shrinking markets, and idle looms, the Indian weavers found themselves standing alone, bereft of advocates. Amid these challenges, Confluence is working to establish a robust manufacturing and marketing chain, while fostering synergy with the growth of the Khadi and Handloom Industry. It presents a captivating model that blends compassion and artistic acumen, scaling up solutions that are direly needed in our present times.

At the heart of Confluence lies a profound mission and vision—to organize and unite these talented handloom weavers into clusters, empowering them to compete in a challenging world. The organization extends unwavering support, nurturing their long-term sustainability and providing the necessary tools for success.

To ensure sustained employment for weavers, the custodians of heritage weaves of India.

To enhance the marketability of products of weavers united in clusters.

To equip traditional artisans of the associated clusters with improved skills.

To make provision for common facilities and improved tools and equipment for artisans.

To strengthen the cluster with the active participation of the stakeholders.
